Understand your menopause symptoms and know what to do next.

Start by being heard. Get clear on what’s happening and explore what comes next.

Effica is a virtual menopause clinic providing physician-led assessment and treatment for perimenopause and menopause.

Your symptoms are only part of the picture. We consider your health history, risk factors, and goals alongside what you’re experiencing, so you and your clinician can make informed decisions about your care, now and for the years ahead.

Referral-based assessment and treatment may be covered by your provincial health plan.

Common questions

Do I need a referral for Effica's menopause care?

Yes. Menopause Symptom Assessment and Treatment by an Effica physician requires a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner. The Personalized Healthspan Consult does not require a referral.

What is covered by provincial health plans?

Eligible physician services within referral-based menopause care are covered by provincial health plans for eligible patients in the provinces we serve. Non-insured services, such as the Personalized Healthspan Consult, Membership and individual expert consultations, are paid privately.

Will I need blood testing?

Investigations are ordered only when they are clinically indicated. Menopause is often diagnosed clinically, so testing is not automatic and is not part of a standard package.

Does Effica prescribe menopausal hormone therapy (MHT)?

MHT may be discussed and prescribed when it is appropriate for you. Your Effica physician reviews your symptoms, health history and risks, explains hormonal and non-hormonal options, and decides the right treatment with you.

What is a Personalized Healthspan Consult?

It is an optional, non-insured 60-minute consultation focused on prevention, screening, risk review, lifestyle and the health you want for the years ahead, alongside your menopause care. Healthspan means the years you live in good health, not simply the number of years you live.

For providers and healthcare partners

Effica works with referring providers, healthcare professionals, and organizations to connect patients with physician-led menopause care and longer-term health services.
