Where we serve

Currently serving women in Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia, we're expanding across Canada with the goal of being nationally available by early 2027.

How access works

Women can be referred to Effica for menopause assessment and treatment, with eligible physician services covered by provincial health insurance. We also offer completely optional non-insured services for women who want to take a broader, more proactive approach to healthy aging.

Our care brings together menopause-informed clinicians, clinical intelligence and multidisciplinary expertise to address symptoms today while helping women understand their health, risks, lifestyle and opportunities for the years ahead.

Our story

Two different perspectives. The same problem.

Effica began with two women who came to the same problem from very different sides.

From inside healthcare

Dr. Nese Yuksel

Dr. Nese Yuksel had spent decades inside women's healthcare: as a clinician, researcher, educator, care advocate and contributor to the clinical guidelines shaping menopause care.

She knew the evidence existed. She knew clinicians wanted to provide excellent care. But she also saw how difficult it was to translate an expanding body of knowledge into individualized care within a healthcare system that wasn't designed for the complexity of menopause.

What was missing wasn't simply more knowledge. It was a better way to translate knowledge into care.

From the other side

Hoda Soboh

Hoda Soboh came to the problem from the other side.

Her own menopause journey was devastating. Despite being informed and able to advocate for herself, finding answers and navigating her way to appropriate care was extraordinarily difficult.

She also brought a career in technology and business: building client-focused experiences, solving complex problems and thinking about how systems could work differently.

This wasn't a failure of women or healthcare professionals. It was a systems problem.

Two very different perspectives led to the same conclusion. Nese brought clinical expertise, research and knowledge translation. Hoda brought lived experience, technology, business and systems thinking.

Both were innovators who believed the problem was solvable. Together, they began building a new model of menopause and midlife care.

That became Effica Health.

Effica brings together leaders and practitioners across women's health, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, research, education, technology, healthcare innovation and business. Our clinical leadership includes experts who have contributed to the research, education and guidance shaping menopause care in Canada.

Our multidisciplinary clinical team includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, Dieticians and other healthcare professionals committed to advancing women's midlife health. And behind them is a team building the technology, operations and infrastructure that make a different model of care possible.
