The Personalized Healthspan Consult, Membership and one-time consultations with expert practitioners can be accessed without a referral. These are optional, non-insured services. Some Health Spending Accounts or group benefit plans may provide coverage. Please confirm with your benefits provider.

What is the difference between the two Effica care pathways?

Both include physician-led menopause assessment and treatment through the LIGHT™ Method. Menopause Care begins with a referral. Menopause + Healthspan Care adds an optional, non-insured Personalized Healthspan Consult focused on prevention, screening, risk and the health you want for the years ahead.

Do I need a referral?

A referral from a physician or nurse practitioner is required for Menopause Symptom Assessment and Treatment by an Effica physician. No referral is required for the Personalized Healthspan Consult.

What is covered by provincial health plans?

Eligible physician services are covered by provincial health plans for eligible patients in the provinces we serve. The Healthspan Consult, Membership and individual expert consultations are non-insured. Some Health Spending Accounts or group benefit plans may provide coverage; please confirm with your benefits provider.

Can purchasing a non-insured service provide faster physician care?

No. Optional non-insured services are not required to access referral-based physician care and do not provide priority or faster access to covered services. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I add ongoing support later?

Yes. Membership and individual expert consultations can be added at any point if they serve your needs. They are optional and do not affect access to referral-based physician care.
